I cleaned other people's houses for eleven years before I wrote any of this down. What I used fit in a bucket, and it worked better than the cupboard of bottles the shops sell. The mixes in this book are the ones I actually used, written out with the amounts.

Nothing in here is a trick. It is order of work and the right amount of the right thing, which is most of what cleaning is.

Will this really replace everything under my sink?
For ordinary housework, yes. The mixes cover glass, grease, floors, bathroom surfaces, laundry and smells. Keep one disinfectant of your choice if you want one. The six mixes in the book are the working set, and each one says what it is for and the exact amounts, so you can empty the shelf under the sink one bottle at a time.
Is it safe around children and pets?
The mixes are made from ordinary household ingredients, and the book gives clear rules: label everything, keep it out of reach, never mix bleach with ammonia or vinegar, and test on a hidden spot first. Read the label on any bottle you reuse, and keep a marker by the sink to date each batch.
Do the stain methods work on old stains?
The book says plainly which stains come out fresh, which come out with a soak, and which may have set for good, so you do not waste an afternoon on one shirt. Start with the stain card in the stain book and work from the fresh stains down, because the first minutes decide most of it.
Do I need special equipment?
No. A spray bottle, two cloths, a mop, a bucket and a vacuum cover every room in the book. Everything else is optional. If you already own a bucket and two cloths you can start with the first mix this afternoon.
